The unborn child named Chloe never had the chance to laugh. Like so many other children taken from life before the first ray of sunshine touched their face. But Chloe’s fate was different. Abortion takes the life of an unborn child because of the inconvenience or emotional state of the mother. This time it was the father who made the decision to end Chloe’s life. On August 23, 2007 seven indictments were brought against Bobby Cutts Jr. a former police officer accused of murdering a pregnant Ohio mom. Chloe and her mother shared the same fate.
Why the accused would want to take the life of the woman he was having a relationship with is not known. The fact she was carrying his child did not stop his horrendous act. As if this was not enough, the act took place in front of the couple’s first child. As the nation will now watch through the eyes of the media one has to wonder what the outcome will be? The accused is facing one count of murder for the mom’s death and two counts of murder for the death of her unborn child. Ohio law does allow the murder charge on a ‘fetus’ that has developed to the point where ‘it’ could survive outside the mother’s womb. Chloe was a nearly full term fetus.
The death of Chloe, we hope will not be in vain. The pro-life movement must not let our elected leaders forget that Chloe was an unborn CHILD not a fetus. If Chloe can have the right to have her death a punishable crime then why not the same for the unborn that is aborted? Murder is murder is it not? The loss of life for both the mom and the unborn child is tragic. God wants us to embrace life and respect it as a blessing from him. To take a life whether out of the womb or within goes against God. America needs to wake up and realize we owe everything to God. And protect all life from conception to natural death just as God intended.
I will be reporting on baby Chloe as this trial develops. In the meantime, be active for life.
